Biography
Andy Bicking, Director of Public Policy

As director of Public Policy, Andy Bicking oversees Scenic Hudson's advocacy with state and federal officials and coordinates efforts with partner organizations throughout the Hudson Valley and New York.
Mr. Bicking was instrumental in passage of a 2009 state budget that preserved the Environmental Protection Fund and Hudson River Estuary Program. He also spearheaded advocacy leading to passage of an expanded bottle-recycling bill and the Hudson Valley Community Preservation Act. He has played key roles in advancing essential environmental initiatives such as the Hudson River Estuary Program, New York State Coastal Management Program and Hudson River Valley Greenway.
Prior to his current position, Mr. Bicking directed Scenic Hudson's environmental education, public events and grassroots-activism efforts. He oversaw the Great River Sweep, an annual volunteer cleanup of the Hudson River's shores resulting in the removal of 400 tons of trash over 10 years.
Mr. Bicking holds a bachelor's degree from Oregon State University. He has held leadership roles in a variety of community organizations.
